Disappointments

Yesterday Beany received some news which really pissed her off.
Lets say... she wasn't accepted into the Cuteness Society. :(

She primped & painted herself up for the application interview!
She assembled all the right outfits!
Her shoes were so perfect, they could have solved the conflict between Israel & Palestine!

Beany looked over every aspect of her application, and really thought it was going to blow all the other Cute competition away. A member of the Cuteness Society even looked over her skirt & top combination and remarked that it was pretty good. Some people saw how cute Beany was and told her she was definitely getting in.

When she found out that they had rejected her, it was a shock. It was numbing, it was half expected in a way, but then no!- it was unexpected. It was saddening; embarrassing. What went wrong?

After crying, drinking too much, calming down, then crying and pouting more, shopping, surfing facebook for even worse news and finding none, Beany decided that this must not have been the right time for her to be a member. Mostly, she is realizing that her headband lacked sophistication. The application outfit wasn't everything Beany thought it was a few months ago.

Certain parts of her Cuteness presentation were amateur, as if Beany hardly knew the meaning of the word cute. She should have worked harder. In hindsight, there were many things that she should have torn apart and made again.

Why had she been comfortable with the shoddy outfit before? Who knows? It could have been lack of passion, for her heart was in a few different places at the time. Maybe it was laziness. Why did Beany spend such LITTLE time on her preparation?

Either way, it's ok to be disappointed, as long as she uses this as a reason to work harder in the future. Harder at being cute; not harder at coming up with excuses for the wrinkles in her dress.

When it comes down to it, scuffed shoes are not presentable, even if they are Stella McCartney couture.

From now on, Beany wants her presentations to be perfect. None of this crap about "Oh, I really like this. There is that one corner with a smudge, but I'm turning it in, and nobody will even notice"

People will notice!!!
Especially the panel of critics on the admissions board of the Cuteness Society.

Not even a meal of vegan vanilla cupcakes from Whole Foods,
with a homemade Mint Chocolate blizzard, made of Decadent coconut icecream
and Newman's Mint Creams could cure Beany right now.

It never hurts to try though...

Happy Eating and Good Decisions to you

Love,

Tin
